Harold E. Hines, 76, of Mays Landing, passed away peacefully at his home on September 12, 2014. Hal was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. He served in the US Air Force from 1957-1961. After the service he worked at Lockheed Aircraft Service, JFK Airport, and later retired from the NYCTA after 22 years of service. In 1991 Hal moved with his family to Mays Landing where he proudly opened Goodeal Discount Transmissions with his son Gary. His legacy is his knowledge and fond memories that he has passed on to his family. Pop will always be remembered as a kind, wonderful, hardworking husband, father, grandpa, and friend, with a great sense of humor. He will sadly missed but never forgotten by his loving wife of 46 years Mary Ann (nee: Griebel), his son Gary and his wife Valentina, and his granddaughter Victoria. A celebration of Hal’s life will be shared on Tuesday, September 16th, from 10-11am, at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing, where services will be held at 11am. Burial and military honors will follow at the Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery of Estell Manor, NJ.
