Ronald W. Gaskill, Sr. of Mays Landing passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 6, 2014. Born November 29, 1947 in Somers Point he was raised in Ocean City, where he graduated from Ocean City High School in 1967, and has been a long-time resident of Mays landing. He served honorably in the US Army. He retired from Atlantic City Electric where he worked at the B.L. England Generating Station in the fuel handling department. In his leisure time he enjoyed riding his Harley, NASCAR and any motor sports, and most of all loved model trains. He enjoyed taking his nieces for train rides and letting them help operate the trains. He is survived by his long-time friend Tamara Lefebvre; brothers: Stephen A. Gaskill of Dallas, TX and Glen Gaskill of English Creek and his wife Barbara; grandchildren: Ashley, Rachel, and Justin Gaskill of Kershaw, SC; daughter-in-law Ann Shinn Gaskill of Kershaw, SC; his niece and nephew Allison Bailey from Dallas, TX and Stephen A. Gaskill, Jr. of Denton, TX. and nieces Amanda J. Gaskill of English Creek and Lauren V. Stieffenhofer of Enterprise, AL. He is predeceased by his parents William and Yvonne Gaskill and his son Ronald W. Gaskill, Jr. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2014 from 6-8 PM at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing, where reflections will be shared at 8 PM.
