Elizabeth Ascher, “Lisel”, of Mays Landing, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2012, at Meadowview Nursing Home. She retired from Lenox China after 15 years of service. In her leisure time she enjoyed gardening and making Christmas ornaments. She is predeceased by eight brothers and sisters in Germany, her sister Maria Zech, and her niece Luddie Policarpo. Lisel is survived by her niece Maryann Acord with whom she resided; her sister Gretel Muhlbauer in Germany; many grandnieces and nephews; and her cat “Barbie.” A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, October 25, at 11 AM, at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 5021 Harding Highway, Mays Landing, where a viewing will be held from 10 AM until the time of the Mass. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Mays Landing. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Friends of Meadowview, 235 Dolphin Ave., Northfield, NJ 08225.
