John Mallory

John Milton Mallory, 85, of Williamstown passed away at home on Sunday, April 21, after an extended illness. He was born in Philadelphia, PA on July 22, 1927, and was the son of the late James and Delma (Bidgood) Mallory. John was the husband of Barbara (Dixon) Mallory and would have been married for 64 years on April 23. Raised in Richland, he attended Buena Vista Township schools and also served in the United States Army. He held various jobs in the area as well as being a guitar player in different bands before moving to Wayne PA in 1980. After retiring he moved to Williamstown. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Richland, and served as a deacon at Zion Baptist Church, Ardmore, PA, during the years he lived in Wayne. In addition to his wife he is survived by five sons, Lee (Yong) of Fayetteville, GA; John of Mays Landing; Steven (Sarah) of Egg Harbor Twp.; Dean of Bridgeport, PA; Dana of Williamstown; and one daughter, Barbara (Harry) Voss of Williamsport, PA; five grandchildren, two great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers; James of Philadelphia, PA; Charles of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by two brothers; Albert and Calvin. Services will be held on Saturday, April 27th, 11AM, at the Chestnut Assembly of God Church, 2554 E. Chestnut Ave., Vineland, NJ, where a viewing will be held from 9AM till the time of the service. Burial will be in the Gloucester County Veterans Cemetery.
