Dorothy Ruth Gaffney, 85 (nee Merenda) ( Cook) of Mays Landing NJ, formerly of Cherry Hill NJ, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, October 9, 2014, surrounded by her family. An avid mahjong player, and former court reporter and legal secretary, she was born on July 31, 1929. She is predeceased by her husband Jack Gaffney and her siblings. She is survived by her children: Michael, Christine, Paul, Phillip, Timothy, Jennifer, Jocelyn, their spouses, her 19 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral services on Saturday October 18, 2014 at Boakes Funeral Home 6050 Main St. Mays Landing, NJ 08330 at 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her honor to Atlantic Care Hospice at P.O. Box 1626 Pleasantville, NJ 08232.
