Eunice Littley

Eunice Littley, of Pomona died on June 15th 2013. She was 94 and had lived in Atlantic County since 1960. Eunice was born in Robstown Texas in 1918 and grew up as a minister’s daughter with 4 sisters and 5 brothers. She met her husband Jack when they were both Lieutenants at Camp Gruber Oklahoma in 1942. They were married in April of 1943 and he shipped out to North Africa and Italy as an infantry officer and she went to England to land on Utah Beach on D-Day plus 5 and serve as a surgical nurse across France for the duration. After the war she and Jack had two sons Jack the 3rd and Dennis. The family traveled extensively until 1960 when they landed in Pomona. Eunice worked as a nurse until she was 78 and then enjoyed life as a grandmother, great grandmother and member of the Jack Littley post of the VFW and St Paul’s United Methodist Church in Port Republic. In addition to her sons she had 6 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 10-11 AM at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing, where services will be held at 11 AM. Burial will be in the Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery in Estell Manor.
