William E. Van Velson, passed away on June 10, 2013. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, he worked in New Jersey and Ohio before returning to New Jersey in 1989. He moved to Mays landing in 2003.
He worked for AtlantiCare Behavioral Health since 2004. Bill was an active member of the Church of St. Katharine Drexel where he served on the Parish Council as well as several ministries in the parish.
In his leisure time he enjoyed playing golf, and spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nancy; three sons: Bill, Bob, and Mike. He was preceded in death by his daughter Karen. He is also survived by seven grandchildren: Eric, Sean, Ryan, Nick, Sara, Luke, and Jacob; his brother Richard (Jeanne) and sister Pattie (Jim) Batalitzky.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 15,
2 PM, at the Church of St. Katharine Drexel, 6075 West Jersey Ave., Egg Harbor Twp., where friends may gather from 1 PM until the time of the Mass. Burial will be private.
