Shelly N. Steelman, 19, of Mays Landing, passed away on February 19, 2013. Shelly was born and raised in Vineland where she was active in cheerleading, dance, roller skating, and soccer. She moved to Mays Landing in 2006 and was a 2011 graduate of Oakcrest High School, where she was active in the band for all four years. Shelly had a passion for music and her favorite lyrics were “I’ve never been a calm blue sea, I’ve always been a storm”. Shelly was a “Social Butterfly”, who considered her friends to be part of her family. She was always the life of the party. She will be sadly missed but never forgotten by her mother Evelyn, her father Steve, her maternal grandmother “MomMom” Geri Falciani, her paternal grandparents Stephen and Mary, her aunts and uncles; Maureen and Kenny Moore, Mary Pitts, Wayne and Mike Steelman, and Frank and Sandy Cerione, and numerous cousins and friends including her best friend Tony. “We love you baby, we hope you are at peace now.” A viewing will be held on Monday, February 25th, from 6-8pm, at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing, where reflections will be shared at 8pm.
